Flash Flood Watch Issued Thursday For Most Of Western Kentucky

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Flash Flood Watch in effect until 9:00 Thursday night for most of western Kentucky with the exception of Christian, Logan, Muhlenberg, Todd, and Trigg counties.

Meteorologists indicate scattered, slow-moving thunderstorms are expected to develop again Thursday afternoon and possibly continuing into the early evening hours. Rainfall rates within these storms could exceed two inches an hour, producing the potential for flash flooding.

The following counties are included in the watch: Ballard, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Crittenden, Daviess, Fulton, Graves, Henderson, Hickman, Hopkins, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken, McLean, Union and Webster.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding, which is a very dangerous situation.
