PADD Discusses Formation of West Kentucky Coalition

Members of the Pennyrile Area Development District Board of Directors learned more about the possibility of creating the West Kentucky Coalition during their virtual meeting Monday afternoon.

Hopkins County Judge-Executive Jack Whitfield told board members the purpose of the coalition is to bring the western portion of the state together.

Whitfield adds there are hundreds of issues that western Kentucky faces.

Whitfield hopes the coalition can get off the ground with enough support from the region.

He adds the annual dues for each county and community would not be expensive.

Whitfield says they would like to meet next month to discuss the coalition further.

Whitfield says the coalition would be comprised of the Purchase, Pennyrile, and Green River Area Development Districts. Those districts cover all of the western-most counties, up to Todd, Muhlenburg, Ohio, and Hancock.
