Princeton Man Facing Several Charges Following Tuesday Incidents

A Princeton man is facing various charges from multiple law enforcement agencies following a series of incidents Tuesday evening.

Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison states just before six officers responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence near the 500 block of East Locust Street. He adds investigation at the scene revealed no physical altercation had occurred and the parties agreed to separate for the evening.

Assistant Chief Allison notes just after ten officers responded to an incident on North Cave Street to assist a Caldwell County Deputy on a traffic stop. Investigation revealed the deputy had observed a speeding vehicle on West Main Street near the Butler campus and had attempted to conduct a traffic stop in front of NAPA, however, the vehicle fled failing to yield to law enforcement, allegedly disregarded several stop signs with oncoming traffic, drove through a yard and finally stopped at the intersection of Locust and Cave streets.

When Princeton Police Officers arrived on scene they recognized the driver, 25-year-old Zachary S. Blair, from the previous call and were concerned about the young children he had been left to care for.

Assistant Chief Allison reports investigation revealed Blair had left an infant and two children, ages one and two, unattended at his residence.

Blair was arrested and charged with three counts of first degree wanton endangerment and three counts of abandonment of a minor.

Blair is also facing multiple charges from the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office including first degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, first degree wanton endangerment, first degree fleeing or evading police – motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving, and various other vehicle related offenses.

Blair was then taken to Caldwell Medical Center and upon his medical release was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
