Christian County Nearing 600 Total Cases of COVID-19

The Christian County Health Department confirmed five new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday.

Spokesperson Amanda Sweeney says the county is reporting 186 active cases, 405 recoveries, and 6 deaths since the pandemic began in mid-March, meaning there have been 597 total cases.

Additionally, Sweeney says the department has conducted 7,565 COVID-19 tests and Jennie Stuart Health has conducted 4,265, for a total of 11,830 tests. She adds the department continues to test and during week 15 of testing, they tested an average of 175.8 individuals each day. Free testing continues weekdays from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Tie Breaker Park.

Currently, Sweeney says there are 11 patients at Jennie Stuart Health who have tested positive for the virus and no results pending.
