A kitchen fire on Denzil Drive in Hopkinsville displaced two people Monday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Firefighters say the fire was contained to the kitchen and started with a cooking accident.
A man and woman along with their cat were able to get out of the apartment uninjured.
No one will be able to stay in the apartment located in the 200 building due to the damage.
A second apartment in the same building suffered some light smoke damage but the occupants of that apartment will not be displaced.
Firefighters were called to the apartments just after 5 pm.
