The financial situation at Trigg County Hospital is continuing to improve, even during a time when some are losing money due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hospital CFO Don Michaels told the board of trustees Thursday evening that admissions were down 18% when compared to June 2019, but departmental volumes were up in some areas.
Last month’s revenues were up 26% when compared to June 2019.
Michaels adds operating income for June was up significantly.
Michaels notes the hospital is spending up to $20,000 a month on COVID-19 related expenses, but that does not include any costs for running swab testing at the Rural Health Clinic.
In other action, trustees approved writing a letter to the Pennyrile Area Development District. Hospital CEO John Sumner says the letter goes with their application for an $85,000 grant to construct additional patient rooms.
Sumner also shared that Trigg County native Todd Price is now working as a Pharmacist at the hospital. Price comes to the job after a Pharmacist left the hospital.
