Princeton Man Facing Drug Trafficking Charges

A Princeton man is facing several charges, including drug trafficking, following shots fired in a residential area Monday night.

Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison states around 7:30 officers responded to the area of Varmint Trace in reference to shots being fired. He adds when officers arrived they were given a description of a male subject with an assault style rifle by multiple witnesses.

Officers were able to make contact with the described male subject, who was identified as 43-year-old Andrew Tinsley, and investigation led officers to obtain a search warrant for a residence in the 800 block of Mechanic Street.

Assistant Chief Allison notes during the execution of the search warrant officers reportedly found the described assault style rifle, a handgun, and approximately 20 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Tinsley was taken into custody and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and his second offense of first degree trafficking in a controlled substance – greater than 2 grams methamphetamine, firearm enhanced.

Tinsley was then lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
