Clarksville Police Officer Honored for Saving Child’s Life

The Clarksville Police Department honored one of its own last week.

The department reports Officer Randy Cox was the recipient of the department’s Life Saver Award Friday for his actions on June 10. On that day, he was dispatched to an incident that involved an unconscious and unresponsive 3-year old child.

They say Officer Cox quickly arrived at the residence and immediately began to perform CPR. After several minutes, he was able to regain the child’s pulse, with EMS arriving on scene and continuing the life-saving process.

Officer Cox had previously worked in the medical field before joining the Clarksville Police Department. He was able to use that training and experience to save the child. The child made a full recovery.
