More Than 580 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed Saturday

Governor Andy Beshear confirmed 583 new COVID-19 cases Saturday afternoon.

Beshear says the Commonwealth has had 22,184 cases confirmed since mid-March. He adds this is the second-highest number of cases reported in a single day in Kentucky. The Governor says everyone needs to take care of each other, by continuing to wear facial coverings, staying six feet apart, and doing all of the things to beat COVID-19.

Nine new deaths were also reported Saturday, raising the total to 667 residents lost to the virus. The deaths reported include three women and two men from Logan County.

As of Saturday, there have been at least 529,481 coronavirus tests performed in Kentucky. The positivity rate currently stands at 4.66% and at least 6,824 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus.
