UPDATE – Two Injured In Christian County Crash

Deputies have released the names of a man and woman injured in a wreck on Interstate 24 Wednesday afternoon.

Christian County Sheriff’s Deputies say a westbound truck driven by 62-year-old Kevin Herpstreith of Nokomis, Illinois, was pulling a camper when he started to slow down due to a wreck.

Herpstreith’s camper was hit by a second truck driven by 60-year-old David Carter of Clarksville that was behind him. Carter had to be cut from the vehicle by Hopkinsville Fire Department.

David Carter and his passenger 63-year-old Dale Carter of Clarksville were injured in the crash. David Carter was taken by ambulance to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville and Dale Carter was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

Deputies say the injuries are non-life-threatening. The crash happened just before 1 pm five miles east of exit 73.

No one was injured in the original crash.
