The Christian County Public Schools District named a Student Transition Coordinator Thursday.

John Rittenhouse, spokesman for the district says Sandra Hancock was appointed to the position. Hancock began teaching in the district at Hopkinsville Middle School in 1997 and was most recently an Information Technology Instructor and College and Career Coach at Gateway Academy to Innovation and Technology.

Rittenhouse says Hancock will play a pivotal role in the district’s efforts to increase successful student transitions between school levels and into productive adult lives. She will coordinate efforts between the schools, local businesses, and post-secondary institutions to provide better opportunities for students to graduate college and/or being career-ready.

Hancock holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Western Kentucky University, two Master’s Degrees from Murray State University, a Rank I certification, and an endorsement in Instructional Computer Technology.

Hancock’s husband, Scott, is Senior Vice President/Chief Trust Officer at Planters Bank. The couple has a son Taylor Wade, who works in Ag Finance at Farm Credit Mid-America.
