Names Released In Sunday Two-Vehicle Crash in Princeton

More information, including the names of those involved, has been released concerning a two-vehicle accident that injured one person Sunday morning.

Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison states around ten officers responded to reports of a two-vehicle accident on Hopkinsville Road/Kentucky 91 South in the curve near Princeton Memorial Gardens. He adds preliminary investigation revealed that 30-year-old Al Zouabi Mohammed, of Antioch, Tennessee, was traveling south on Hopkinsville Road when he lost control of his vehicle in the curve and crossed the center line, entering the path of a truck driven by 80-year-old Lester Watson, of Princeton.

Watson’s truck came to a rest in the roadway while Mohammed’s vehicle continued off the roadway, striking an embankment, where it came to a rest.

Assistant Chief Allison notes Mohammed, who was reported unresponsive, was then extricated from his vehicle by Princeton Fire and Rescue and was transported to Caldwell Medical Center by Lyon County EMS. Mohammed was later transported by Caldwell EMS to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for life-threatening injuries.

The Princeton Police Department was also assisted at the scene by Kentucky Transportation Cabinet personnel.
