Spay/Neuter Grants Available to Governments

The Kentucky Animal Control Advisory Board is inviting county governments and municipalities throughout the state to apply for grants to spay and neuter companion animals.

According to a release the board will award up to $2,500 to each government on a competitive basis and no match is required, however, preference will be given to applicants offering more matching dollars. The release indicates governments may partner with non-profit organizations to obtain the best use of resources and applicants are strongly encouraged to seek out the best price possible for the average anticipated cost per alteration, as grant amounts will be based in part on these costs.

The release also states the majority of the funds for the program come from the sale of spay and neuter license plates and donations from Kentuckians.

All applications must be received by Wednesday, July 15th and must be emailed to michael.grant@ky.gov. A link to the application can be found here.
