Traffic Stop Leads To Meth Charges In Hopkinsville

A traffic stop on East 21st Street in Hopkinsville for speeding led to drug charges Monday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say 22-year-old Aaliyah Tolbert of Owensboro was stopped for speeding and during the stop, officers could smell marijuana in the vehicle.

Tolbert reportedly performed well on a sobriety test and admitted to police she had smoked marijuana an hour and a half before the stop.

Three bottles of vodka, meth, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were allegedly found in the vehicle.

She reportedly admitted the drugs and alcohol were hers and they were seized by police. Tolbert was cited to court on charges of speeding and possession of meth and marijuana.
