101st Airborne To Recognize Redeployed Soldiers Thursday

The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell will hold a redeployment recognition event Thursday afternoon for soldiers who recently returned from locations around the world.

Fort Campbell officials say the 230 soldiers to be recognized are assigned to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team “Rakkasans,” headquartered at the Army installation. Although the soldiers redeployed to Fort Campbell in multiple groups, officials say they will be recognized together.

Army officials say the soldiers supported a number of missions for commands worldwide, including United States Africa Command.

Since their deployment, officials with the 101st Airborne Division say the soldiers have undergone a precautionary quarantine to ensure their safety and the safety of their families and community.

The ceremony will be held at 4:00 on the division’s parade field at Fort Campbell and will be live-streamed on the 101st Airborne Division Facebook page. Officials say they have integrated social distancing and safety measures in accordance with best practices from the CDC and Department of Defense guidelines.
