The Christian County Health Department reported five new COVID-19 cases Monday afternoon.
Spokeswoman Amanda Sweeney says there are now 147 total cases in the county. The county currently has 33 active cases, the single highest number since April 25. The current active cases comprise of three under the age of 21, twenty-seven between 22 and 59 years of age, and three cases between 60 and 84 years of age.
The department confirmed 22 new cases of COVID-19 last week with 14 coming from African-Americans. 25% of the total cases come from African-Americans, a jump of 7% in the last week.
