Todd County Reports Three New COVID-19 Cases

Todd County announced Thursday afternoon the county now has 22 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The health department reports two of the cases are connected to the county’s 19th case which was confirmed Sunday. The 20th case announced is a healthy adult that is in self-isolation and a contact of an adult that likely contracted the virus while working outside of the county.

The 21st case is from an immune-compromised adult, who is a contact of the 19th case and is hospitalized with moderate to severe symptoms. This patient was in quarantine prior to being placed in the hospital.

The 22nd case is an immune-compromised adult, who is not connected to any other cases. The patient is hospitalized with moderate to severe symptoms and has multiple contacts, mainly family members and caregivers, and the health department is in the process of notifying them.

According to the state department of health, Todd County is the 49th county to report at least 20 COVID-19 cases. The health department says there are seven active cases currently and that 15 people have recovered.

Jen Harris with the health department reiterated the importance of getting tested for COVID-19 even if you are not exhibiting symptoms because of how contagious the virus can be.
