Area Wedding Planner Seeking Change In Reopening Plan

A business owner in Hopkinsville has sent a letter to Governor Andy Beshear, and started a petition, asking for the wedding and event industry be allowed to reopen before July 1st under the same guidelines as other businesses opening this month.

Danielle Renshaw, the owner of Ruffled Willow, a wedding florist and wedding planner, says they have been closed since March and the industry has been significantly impacted by the governor’s mandated closure due to the coronavirus outbreak.

She adds they are prepared to do whatever it takes to reopen, including wearing masks and gloves to ensure the health and safety of her staff as well as her clients. So far, Renshaw adds they have received approximately 200 signatures online in less than 24-hours, but she hopes to get more. She says anyone wanting to add their name to the petition can go to the Ruffled Willow Facebook page where you will find a post that will take you directly to the petition.
