Trigg County magistrates discussed a project for the Golden Pond Overlook during their Monday afternoon meeting.

During the approval of expenditures, Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander brought up an expense of $6,848 for Ronald Johnson & Associates of Madisonville. He says the money will go to pay for design services of the transportation museum, service for the new bathroom facility to be built at the Trigg County Recreation Complex, and professional services for the Golden Pond Overlook.

After a question from magistrate Cameron Sumner, Alexander noted the road would be used to help those who cannot walk the trail that was made to get up there.

He adds the land where the overlook is located is owned by the federal government, but they are not interested in providing financial support for the project.

Magistrates approved all of the expenditures and also approved several inter and intra transfers and conducted other normal business during the meeting.

The next Trigg County Fiscal Court meeting will be held Monday, June 1, if they get to meet in-person, the meeting will be held at 6:00 PM. The location of a possible in-person meeting will be determined at a later date.
