Officials with the Christian County Health Department announced Friday their afternoon update has been canceled and beginning next week they will provide live updates on Tuesdays only.
Spokeswoman Amanda Sweeney says with a decrease in the number of active cases and the improved testing ability in the county they feel a news conference once a week will be more impactful. She adds the live updates will be held at 3:30 every Tuesday afternoon.
Testing is ongoing at Tie Breaker Park on Lafayette Road on weekdays from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 until 11:00 a.m. Testing will be conducted Monday afternoon from 1:00 until 3:00 at 512 Clay Street in downtown Hopkinsville. In addition, COVID-19 testing will be on Tuesday, May 19, and Tuesday, May 26 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the Oak Grove Community Center located on Thompsonville Lane.
