The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Lake Wind Advisory for western Kentucky, effective until 8:00 Friday night.
Meteorologists say winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph are expected which will cause rough waves on area lakes and create hazardous conditions for small watercraft.
Boaters will need to use extra caution when out on area lakes or waterways.
