McNeill To Be Sworn In As Next Court Of Appeals Judge

The newest Kentucky Court of Appeals judge will be sworn-in Friday morning.

J. Christopher McNeill will be sworn-in by Chief Justice of Kentucky John D. Minton, Jr. at 10:30 on Zoom and the public can watch by clicking here.

McNeill was appointed by Governor Andy Beshear on April 22 to serve the 1st Appellate District, Division 1 that is comprised of the state’s westernmost counties, including; Caldwell, Calloway, Christian, Hopkins, Lyon, Marshall, Todd, and Trigg. McNeill has served with the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy for 19 years and has been a directing attorney since 2003 for the department’s Paducah trial office. He received his Juris Doctor from Northern Kentucky University Salmon P. Chase College of Law.

McNeill succeeds Justice Christopher Shea Nickell, who was elected to the Supreme Court of Kentucky in the November general election.
