Details Released About High-Speed Pursuit In Hopkinsville

A couple has been charged after a high-speed pursuit that started as a check the welfare Thursday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the Marathon gas station on Fort Campbell Boulevard near Interstate 24 for 24-year-old Sarah Wring who claimed she was having a possible miscarriage.

Wring then left the gas station and got into the car with 25-year-old Johnney McKinney and fled from police at over 100 mph getting onto Interstate 24 then Pennyrile Parkway before the pursuit was terminated by police.

Wring reportedly called police and claimed McKinney was going to shoot her if the pursuit didn’t end.

The vehicle was later found by police on East 21st Street and no one was around it. McKinney was found walking in the area and was taken into custody.

Wring was later found in the area of East 18th Street in a wood line. They were both charged with receiving stolen property.

McKinney was also charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police and first-degree wanton endangerment.  Wring was charged with falsely reporting as well.

The car was found to have been stolen out of Hopkins County on April 13th.
