A Christian County man was charged with assaulting his girlfriend and her brother on Madisonville Road Thursday morning.
Christian County Sheriff’s Deputies say 29-year-old Billy Oliver III was physically fighting with his girlfriend when her brother attempted to help her and pulled a gun that Oliver was able to get ahold of and hit the brother.
At one point during the fight, both men were reportedly struggling over the gun and it discharged. No one was shot during the fight but both men were taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for head injuries.
A window was also broken in the fight.
Oliver was later arrested and charged with first-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, first-degree criminal mischief, and fourth-degree assault.
The home is located on Madisonville Road near the intersection of Sparkman Road.
