River’s Bend Retirement Community Announces Second COVID-19 Death

River’s Bend Retirement Community in Kuttawa has announced the second coronavirus (COVID-19) related death of a resident at the long-term care facility.

A post on social media Tuesday morning stated that staff was saddened to report the loss of a second assisted living resident to complications from the virus. Staff added that residents at the facility are family to them and asked for the community’s prayers for the friends and family of those lost and the health and wellbeing of their residents and staff as they continue to battle the disease.

River’s Bend noted they are continuing to work with Lyon County Judge/Executive Wade White, as well as local and state health departments, emergency services, and local hospitals to ensure their residents receive the care they need in the appropriate setting.

They also extended their gratitude for those who have donated personal protective equipment (PPE) that is helping to keep front-line health workers and residents safe.

The first COVID-19 related death at the long-term care facility was reported in early April.
