Governor’s Office Seeking Input From Kentucky Business Owners

Governor Andy Beshear’s office is seeking plans from businesses across the Commonwealth, as they begin to come up with ways to safely reopen the economy.

During his Tuesday update, Governor Beshear says the plans they are looking for are how they would operate by following CDC guidelines.

 

LaTasha Buckner, the governor’s Chief of Staff adds they will begin talking with mayors and judge-executives this week.

With the recent announcement that Tennessee will begin reopening businesses May 1st, Beshear reiterated they will be talking with local leaders while coming up with a plan to begin reopening the economy in the safest way.

 

Governor Beshear confirmed 177 new cases Tuesday, bringing the state total to 3,192. Out of the new cases, 32 were reported from Hopkins and one case in Caldwell and Lyon counties. No new cases were reported at Western State Hospital in Hopkinsville, with one case from an inmate being reported from the Green River Correctional Complex.

Beshear also confirmed 17 new deaths, marking the highest single-day increase and bringing the state total to 177. Among the 17: an 86-year old female from Lyon County and five people from Hopkins County.

In other updates, Governor Beshear says more testing sites will be announced Wednesday afternoon during his update that can be heard on all Edge Media Group radio stations and web streams.
