Caldwell County Schools To Not Resume In-Class Studies for 2019/2020 School Year

Caldwell County Schools will not resume in-class studies for the remainder of the current school year following direction by Governor Andy Beshear.

Superintendent Nate Huggins says that superintendents across the state gathered with the Governor virtually Monday morning and came to the decision to keep schools closed. He adds that while students will not be returning to classes this spring Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) and daily food deliveries will continue.

Superintendent Huggins is also reminding the community that decisions concerning graduation services will be discussed during the Board of Education meeting Monday evening, which will be aired live on WPKY beginning at 7 PM. He notes that graduation services will most likely be held virtually but board members are expected to set a potential in-person graduation ceremony for late June or early July. However, the potential for an in-person ceremony will highly depend upon whether the state meets the phases outlined by the federal government concerning social distancing and the coronavirus pandemic.

For more information about NTI, food delivery, and anything else relating to the school year you can contact the Caldwell County Board Office at 270-365-8000.
