Thompsonville Lane Expansion Continuing In Oak Grove

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says construction is continuing to widen a stretch of a road in Oak Grove for the new horse track and other businesses that are coming soon.

Keirsten Jaggers, with the district two office says the widening of Kentucky 911/Thompsonville Lane is occurring from the U.S. 41A intersection to the railroad track, which is over .4-miles, to make the roadway five lanes.

She adds the speed limit for the work zone has been reduced to 25 MPH, a new striping pattern has been installed, and a 10-foot width restriction can be expected.

Over-dimensional vehicles can utilize U.S. 41A, Interstate 24, or Kentucky 115 to by-pass the work zone.

Rogers Group is the prime contractor of the over $2.75-million project to accommodate the expected increase in traffic for the new Oak Grove Racing and Gaming facility. This work is a part of a larger project that will ultimately connect with Kentucky 115 and is expected to be completed by the fall.
