Caldwell Announces Two Additional COVID-19 Cases

The Pennyrile District Health Department has confirmed two new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Caldwell County.

County officials announced via social media Thursday evening that the two new cases involve a 60-year-old male that is hospitalized and a 19-year-old female that is quarantined at home. Officials stated that a contact investigation is currently being conducted and all known contacts will be notified by the Pennyrile Health Department regarding their next steps.

Officials reminded citizens that it the community’s collective responsibility to respond to this situation and do the very best to stop the spread of the virus and are urging everyone to stay home and practice social distancing, including staying at least six feet from others if you must leave your home.

Caldwell announced its first case Tuesday, which was a 58-year-old woman who is currently in self-quarantine.
