A Hopkinsville man was charged with strangulation after he reportedly choked his girlfriend in a fight Tuesday night on South Kentucky Avenue.
Hopkinsville Police say 27-year-old Karl Bailey was in a fight with his girlfriend over him wanting to be with someone else and during the fight he choked her and she hit him in the eye with an unknown object.
Bailey reportedly told police at the hospital that he had been stabbed during the fight.
He is charged with second-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault.
