Senator Rand Paul Test Positive For COVID-19

Senator Rand Paul says he tested positive for coronavirus and is in self-quarantine.

Paul announced on Twitter that he is asymptomatic and is feeling fine. He says he was tested out of an abundance of caution due to his extensive travel and events.

Paul said he was not aware of any direct contact with a person that has been infected with the virus. He is the first United States Senator to test positive for the coronavirus.

Senator Paul said he expects to be back in the Senate after his quarantine period ends and will continue to work for the people of Kentucky at this difficult time.  He says the DC office began working remotely 10 days ago which means no staff has been in contact with him.
