The Bruce Closed For Two Weeks In Response To COVID-19

Out of an abundance of caution due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Bruce Convention Center is closed for two weeks.

Board Chairman Darrell Gustafson says the precautionary measure is to protect the employees and clients. He adds they will review their decision on March 30 and take further actions, if necessary. He says this is not an easy decision, but one they feel is in the best interest of all involved.

According to Gustafson, the limited staff at The Bruce will be available during the building closure. Current and potential clients are still encouraged to reach out with questions, clarify status or to book future events.

In addition, Gustafson says construction remains in progress at the new Holiday Inn & Suites, located by The Bruce. He adds the anticipated open date is late April with staff at the 104-room hotel already hired and in training. The hotel will also include a full-service restaurant, indoor pool, and outdoor bar and patio.
