Hopkinsville and Christian County officials are taking a proactive approach to continue to provide services to residents of the city and county due to the threat associated with the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
During a Monday news conference at the Hopkinsville Municipal Center Christian County Emergency Management Director Randy Graham says officials are working around the clock to develop plans with the health department to prevent the possible spread of the virus.
Christian County Health Department Director Kayla Bebout asks all residents to practice 3 C’s.
Bebout encourages any who is not feeling well to reach out to the statewide hotline for more information.
Meanwhile, Hopkinsville Mayor Wendell Lynch says they are restricting access to their facilities, including the Municipal Building.
Lynch adds they are asking residents to conduct all City business electronically or by phone, if possible, for at least the next two weeks. In addition, Oak Grove Mayor Theresa Jarvis says they are taking the same precautions but can help anyone through the drive-up window, over the phone, or by email.
Christian County Judge/Executive Steve Tribble stated they will be doing much of the same.
