Trigg County Public Schools To Close For Two Weeks

After monitoring the latest COVID-19 information the Trigg County Public School system has decided to close from Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27.

According to Superintendent Bill Thorpe, all co and extracurricular and school-sponsored activities ceased Friday.

 

Thorpe adds the district will deliver food beginning Monday, for students in need.

 

Meals will be available each weekday during the closure from 11:30 to 12:30. If you need food delivered to another location to call (270) 522-2235 between 7:00 and 10:00 AM.

Locations include; the housing authority, Cunningham Avenue, the old restaurant in Cerulean, Sinclair’s in Canton, Trigg County Complex, Linton United Methodist Church, Roaring Springs Christian Church, Locust Grove Baptist Church, Martindale Drive, the Trigg-Lyon Fire Department, and the school drive-up.

In addition, Thorpe adds playgrounds along with any other district-owned facilities are shut down.

During the two week period, students are to complete the NTI work sent home, with any questions about the work directed to your child’s teacher.

The Trigg County Early Childhood Council has also canceled the Future Wildcat event planned for Tuesday and the Family Safety Night for Thursday, March 26.
