Trigg Schools Monitoring Latest COVID-19 Information

Trigg County Public Schools Superintendent Bill Thorpe reaffirmed they are closely monitoring the latest COVID-19 information from Governor Andy Beshear and others, during the regularly scheduled board meeting Thursday night.

Thorpe told board members he was a part of a conference call with Governor Beshear Wednesday afternoon.

He adds with additional information released by the governor Thursday afternoon, they are closely evaluating what the district will do.

In addition, board members approved to install new lighting to make three areas in front of and near the school on Main Street more visible at night. Director of Operations Matt Ladd says the lights will come from a partnership with Pennyrile Electric and the City of Cadiz.

Thanks to the partnerships, the new lighting will only cost the district a little over $126 a month. No estimated time was provided on when the lighting would be installed.

Questions about additional lighting were raised by the board at a previous meeting after a student was struck by a vehicle while crossing the road near Cardinal Drive in January.
