Oak Grove High-Speed Pursuit Ends In Crash

A high-speed pursuit that started in Oak Grove ended in a crash on Lovers Lane in Hopkinsville Sunday night.

Oak Grove Police say they attempted to stop a motorcycle on Fort Campbell Boulevard for speeding and the driver 32-year-old Robert Freeman fled at speeds of over 90 mph.

During the pursuit, Freeman reportedly fled traveling down several roads in Oak Grove before going the wrong direction on Interstate 24 and getting onto Pennyrile Parkway.

The pursuit ended when Freeman attempted to exit Pennyrile Parkway onto Lovers Lane and hit a Kentucky State Troopers car and was blocked in by Christian County Sheriff’s Deputies and Oak Grove Police.

A female passenger on the motorcycle allegedly hit Freeman multiple times before jumping off at the Lovers Lane exit.

Freeman was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for minor injuries.

He is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, and first-degree fleeing or evading police and more charges are pending.
