HCCPL Hosting Family Fort Night Friday

Families are invited to the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library Friday for the first after-hours ‘Family Fort Night’.

Library officials are encouraging participants to wear pajamas, bring blankets, flashlights, and pillows, and create blanket forts the old fashion way. Youth Services Librarian, Jennifer Annis-Domenech says they are encouraging families to build blanket forts and read together in the library after it closes. She adds participants will also enjoy deconstructed s’mores, a craft and a family storytime.

Annis-Domenech says the goal of the Youth Services Department is to promote family literacy and to encourage families in Christian County to spend time together.

Executive Director DeeAnna Sova says the library is for everyone in the community, and while they embrace technology on every level, she adds it’s nice to step back and just enjoy the basics of creativity and being together.

The event will begin at 7:00 Friday night. It is free for families, a library card is not required, and pre-registration is not necessary.
