A Bright New Pennyroyal Area Museum Now Open

Exactly 105 years after the Hopkinsville post office opened in the same building, the Pennyroyal Area Museum held their grand reopening Thursday afternoon, following an extensive renovation and update.

Executive Director Alissa Keller says the building now features various whimsical and bright displays with deep historical significance in every detail. Keller notes she is overjoyed to finally reveal the new space to the public.

She says she believes this is the community’s biggest accomplishment in displaying Christian County’s rich history.

Hopkinsville Mayor Wendell Lynch shared a proclamation during the ceremony, highlighting the history of the building itself.

Christian County Treasurer Walter Cummings continues the proclamation, declaring February 27 a day to honor the museum.

Following the ceremony, officials cut the ribbon on the new museum declaring it officially open to the public. They encourage everyone to stop by and bring the kids to enjoy the new interactive learning opportunities available in the museum.
