Petition Circulating Concerning Stoplight At Trigg Intersection

An online petition is circulating to encourage the state of Kentucky to reconsider placing a stoplight at the intersection of Kentucky 139, the South Road, and the US 68-80 Bypass.

The petition drive was organized by Ashley Walley of Cadiz. The petition says there needs to be a stoplight at the 68-80 intersection with 139 south of Cadiz. The author of the petition goes on to say the traffic on one side or another needs to completely stop so that traffic can proceed safely. She says by putting a stoplight in it will reduce the number of accidents and possibly save lives. Walley adds those signing the petition feel the J-turn that has been proposed will only make it more complicated for drivers, especially truck and trailer or semi drivers. Wally’s petition says she feels a stoplight would be better suited for the intersection instead of a j-turn.

The petition can be found by clicking here. More than 400 people have already signed the petition. Walley says supporters of a stoplight at the intersection will also be holding a demonstration in the future along the roadway in the vicinity of the intersection.
