Four Local Counties Awarded Grants for Record Preservation

Four local agencies are among the 25 chosen recipients of grants to assist in preserving and managing local government records.

The Department for Libraries and Archives has announced they are awarding more than $575,000 in grants across the state from the Local Records Grant Program fund. Among the counties chosen are Christian County who will receive a grant of $18,567; Todd County will be awarded $3,950; Lyon County will receive $12,471; Trigg County will receive the largest grant in the region with $31,916.

Governor Andy Beshear says the Local Records Program is necessary to ensure our rich Kentucky history is passed on to future generations.

The Local Records Program is intended to assist local agencies in the preservation and protection of records with archival value through direct services, training, and grant support.
