Police are looking for an inmate that escaped while on work release in Madisonville Tuesday afternoon.
Kentucky State Police say 26-year-old Bennie Britt Jr. of Louisville was on work release at the Madisonville Sanitation Department when he escaped.
Britt is a male 6 foot 1 inch tall, weighing 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a jail-issued khaki shirt and pants.
He was being held on charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, receiving stolen property (firearm) and possession of a controlled substance.
Police ask if you have any information on his whereabouts to call Kentucky State Police Post 2 at 270-676-3313.
