Kiwanians Learn of the Need for Junior Achievement

The Junior Achievement of West Kentucky has been empowering young people to thrive in today’s economy by teaching work readiness, entrepreneurial skills, and financial literacy.

President Dan Douglas, who spoke during the recent Kiwanis meeting, says their volunteers reach children globally.

He notes they teach essential skills employers look for in job candidates.

Douglas says the need for Junior Achievement is evidenced in job statistics.

He highlights the skills gap evident in the job market.

Junior Achievement operates through volunteers that teach the curriculum to 7th and 8th-grade students. The program is looking to expand further into schools in the coming year.
