Hopkinsville Couple Found With Meth And Counterfeit Money

A traffic stop on Cox Mill Road for a headlight violation led to drugs and counterfeit money Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped 26-year-old Kelsie Comperry for one of her headlights being out and during the stop, police could reportedly smell marijuana.

After a search of the vehicle, police reportedly found meth and marijuana in a cigarette pack along with syringes and multiple plastic baggies inside the vehicle.

In a black purse next to Comperry, they allegedly found a blank check made out to her and a fraudulent hundred-dollar bill inside her wallet.

When asked about the owner of the account on the check Comperry reportedly told police she didn’t know them.

Comperry and her passenger 36-year-old Gregory Shemwell were both charged with possession of meth. Comperry was also charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
