Police are warning the community after a man acting like a store employee tried to follow a woman home Thursday night.
Hopkinsville Police say a man claiming to work for Walmart approached a woman and asked her to empty her pockets because she was seen on camera stealing.
The man reportedly told the woman he would follow her to her car to make sure she didn’t steal anything but the woman found a Walmart employee and called for police.
The man was escorted out of the store by a Walmart employee before the police arrived.
Police say if you find yourself in a situation like this to ask for identification, call for police, and find someone who you know works for the business.
