Cadiz-Trigg County EDC Welcomes Carter Hendricks

The Cadiz-Trigg County Economic Development Commission welcomed new South West Kentucky EDC Executive Director Carter Hendricks Friday morning and approved to replace a sign that was damaged during a severe storm in January.

Hendricks, who serves his last day as the Mayor of Hopkinsville Friday, shared his future plans with the commission that includes retention, recruitment, and relationships.

Hendricks adds he has learned a lot recently.


In addition, the commission approved to replace the industry sign that sits at the corner of Old Hopkinsville Road and Glennwood Mill Road. The sign was destroyed during the Saturday, January 11 severe storm that rolled through Trigg County packing heavy winds and two confirmed tornadoes. The amount to replace the sign was not disclosed during the meeting, as the commission is waiting to hear the estimated cost.

Alan Gates

Following a closed session, the Cadiz-Trigg County Industrial Authority approved to appoint Alan Gates, President and Chief Operating Officer for Pennyrile Rural Electric, to the Cadiz-Trigg County EDC board as a county appointment. Gates will serve a term expiring on January 31, 2024.
