Trigg Home Destroyed, Homeowner Injured In Fire (w/VIDEO)

A Trigg County home was destroyed and the owner was injured in a fire Friday afternoon.

Shortly before 1:00, the Trigg-Lyon Fire Department was paged out to a home with smoke showing in the 400 block of Summerfield Road. Upon arrival, firefighters saw flames coming from the roof of the home and called for assistance from the Montgomery and East Golden Pond Fire departments. Pennyrile Electric was also called to the scene to cut off the power to the home.

Trigg-Lyon Fire Department Chief Tonya Wadlington said the home is a total loss adding Kentucky State Fire Investigators have been called to the home to determine the cause of the fire.

 

Smoke from the house fire could be seen for miles. The owner of the home whose name has not been released was injured and transported by Trigg County EMS to a hospital, said Wadlington adding the extent of the injuries remains unknown.

Wadlington said no one else was injured in the fire. The News Edge will update this story when more information is released.
