The Trigg County Sheriff’s Office was recently awarded a state Highway Safety Grant.
Sheriff Jason Barnes says the grant will be used to help make the community safer.
He adds one of their main areas of focus will be the ongoing construction on U.S. 68/KY 80 west of Cadiz.
Another focus could be traffic safety checkpoints.
Barnes notes the last time they set up a traffic safety checkpoint they were able to charge a man who had an active warrant for nearly 11 years.
