The community banded together to help reach and exceed the goal of a matching grant formed by a Cadiz business that benefited the Trigg County Seniors Center.
Trigg County Senior Citizen Center Director Cissy Lawrence tells the News Edge they raised $13,660, which far exceeded the $10,000 match from Barkley Lake Homes Realty. The total raised including the match amounts to $27,320.
Lawrence thanks the community for the donations given to the center.
Barkley Lake Homes Realty Owner Ronnie Sadler says the grant was a way they could help give back to the Trigg County Senior Citizens Center.
Sadler notes the generosity of Cadiz and Trigg County really came out during the month of December.
He thanks everyone who made the matching grant a possibility.
Lawrence told the News Edge last month they are in need of donations after their budget was cut last year by $49,000 and are facing the same cuts this year.
