Two Charged After Separate Traffic Stops In Hopkinsville

Robert Steele

Two separate traffic stops for disregarding a stop sign led to possession of meth charges Wednesday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say 31-year-old Robert Steele was stopped on Mechanic Street after he disregarded a stop sign at the intersection of Howell Street while riding his bicycle.

During the stop, Steele was reportedly extremely nervous and police found meth along with synthetic drugs on him.

In a separate stop, Police say they stopped 55-year-old David Turner on North Fowler Avenue after he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of West 1st Street.

Turner was reportedly found to have meth and drug paraphernalia on him.

They are both charged with possession of meth and Steele was also charged with possession of synthetic drugs. Turner was cited and released.
