Motorcyclist In Critical Condition After Clarksville Crash

A 51-year old motorcyclist was flown to a Nashville hospital and a woman was charged with DUI after a crash in Clarksville Wednesday night.

Clarksville police report officers and a fatal accident crash team responded to the intersection of Fort Campbell Boulevard and Quin Lane around 10:00 for a wreck involving a motorcycle and a Jeep. Officers report 38-year old Arial Hummel was driving a Jeep south on the boulevard when she made a left turn onto private property and pulled into the path of a northbound motorcycle. Police say the motorcyclist crashed into the Jeep and the rider was ejected, landing on top of the rear tire and jeep frame.

According to police, the motorcyclist was transported by Life Flight in critical condition to a Nashville hospital and underwent surgery.

Hummel was arrested and lodged in the Montgomery County Jail charged with driving under the influence with a $1,500 bond. Police indicate additional charges are possible.
